Educate Your Heart and Mind

The Center for Faith, Action, and Ministry (CFAM) fosters the integration of love of God and neighbor through worship, pastoral ministry, justice, and solidarity. We accompany students of diverse faith backgrounds—and no faith backgrounds—and invite them to the fullness of life, finding expression in acts of service and a commitment to justice.

Inspired by Blessed Basil Moreau’s notion that “the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart,” we provide a space for students to integrate their intellectual formation with that of their heart. Prompted by the Sisters of the Holy Cross’s charism, we challenge the Saint Mary’s community to respond to the unmet needs in our society and confront the social and moral issues of our day. CFAM encourages the community to think critically on what a lens of faith brings to the social response.

Our vision: to build a community of belonging in which all members of the Saint Mary’s community can encounter the transformative love of God, respond in faith, and build a more just world.
