
Saint Mary’s College’s vision insurance is offered through UnitedHealthcare Vision effective January 1, 2009.

Immediately upon employment, full and part-time employees are eligible to enroll in a group vision insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare. Employees must pay the full premium to participate in this program.
There is a 31-day election period for employees to enroll. If an employee declines coverage upon hire, enrollment can occur only if the employee has a life-style status event OR applies during open enrollment. Open enrollment occurs during the month of November with an effective date of January 1.
Benefits are available on a single, single plus one or family plan basis. The family plan covers the employee’s spouse and her/his dependent children under the age of 19. The plan covers dependent children up to age 25 if they are attending school full time and are not covered under another health care plan as an employee. Please refer to the Benefits-in-Brief sheet for the current cost of the plans.
