Alumna's comments: I teach Social Studies at Pompano Beach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida (just north of Ft. Lauderdale). The school district, Broward County Schools, is the largest district in the state and the fifth largest school district in the nation.
I have found Broward Schools wonderful to work for, and in fact I live in Palm Beach County but drive 25 miles one-way to work for Broward, passing no fewer than 5 other high schools during my drive. I know there's a job fair coming up shortly...May 11-13th.
If you are not aware, Florida has a severe shortage of teachers, especially in English, Science and Math. Florida also has temporary certification programs for those that do not have a degree in education, but hold a 4 year college degree.

It is located in a beautifully renovated, old school in the Columbia Heights neighborhood near a Metro station.
