Women's Health

Women's Health recognizes each Saint Mary's College student as a unique individual created by God. We support the educational mission of the college by providing high quality care in an accessible, safe, secure, and confidential environment. The staff is committed to assisting students in their acquisition of knowledge, skill, and behaviors necessary to become self-directed health advocates. We encourage women to participate actively in their own health maintenance and to make informed choices regarding their care.

I have been working at SMC for 8 years. My hobbies include watercolor, knitting, baking, watching movies, shopping, and people watching. To reduce stress I like to walk on the beach or knit.

Kristina Pendley , Counseling, Clinical Director
I have been at SMC since August of 1996 and have held a variety of positions in the Counselng Center. I enjoy reading and surfing on my computer when I have free time. I also love to play with my dog Riley Anne and my cat Casey. Playing with my pets, reading, riding my stationary bike, and spending time with family and friends are the ways I choose to reduce stress.

Gina Christiana
, Counselor

I am beginning my 10th academic year at SMC. What I love and enjoy most in life is my children, family, friends, pets, the sights and sounds of nature and working with students. To relax, I sit on the porch, knit, read, walk or go up to a beach on Lake Michigan.

Debra Bauters , Health, Clinical Director
I've worked at SMC for 22 years. I am a graduate of Saint Mary's first nursing class! My favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is to read. I enjoy reading fiction, especially when it has to do with the Vatican. I also enjoy eating, walking, and slot machines. My husband and I love to keep involved with our 5 children too. When I'm stressed I read.

Cyndie Horton-Cavanaugh , Staff Nurse

Veronica Lebbin , Staff Nurse

My hobbies/past times include cheering on my youngest children during their various sporting events, reading and cooking/eating. The highlight of my week is hosting family dinners on Sunday evening. My best stress reliever is taking a walk with my husband.
