Belles Suffer Five-set Loss at Adrian
ADRIAN, Mich. - For the second consecutive match, the Saint Mary's volleyball team fell in a five-set dual in MIAA play, this time to Adrian. The Bulldogs took the 3-2 (25-21, 15-25, 25-17, 20-25, 15-9) decision.
After falling in a close first set, the Belles stormed through the second set 25-15 with a .269 attack percentage to tie the match at one set apiece. Two sets later, Saint Mary's used a .227 attacking clip with 14 kills to square the match at 2-2. In the final set, however, the Bulldogs capitalized on the Belles' miscues to ultimately take the win.
Lorna Slupczynski and Stephanie Bodien shared match-high honors with 16 kills. Meghann Rose, meanwhile, had a match-high 16 digs and Danie Brink added 36 assists for the Belles.
Saint Mary's returns to Angela Athletic Facility tomorrow afternoon for an MIAA match-up against Alma College at 1:00 p.m.
