Applying for Aid: Verification Documents

Returning students can use PRISM to check the status of their financial aid documents.

Verification Statement

The federal government requires colleges to verify the accuracy of the information that the parent(s) and the student report on their financial aid applications. The Financial Aid Office will notify you if you need to complete the verification process. If you were selected for verification, you must complete the process before we can finalize your financial aid.

Though we will send you the forms you need to complete, for your convenience, we have also placed these forms online for you to download.

Non-Custodial Parent CSS-PROFILE and Non-Custodial Parent Waiver

If the student's biological parents are divorced (or were never married), you must determine who is the custodial parent. Typically, this is the parent with whom the student resides. The other parent is considered non-custodial, and should complete the Non-Custodial Parent CSS-PROFILE application. When your daugther completes the CSS-PROFILE, she will receive an e-mail asking her to have her non-custodial parent complete his/her portion of the CSS-PROFILE. She should forward this e-mail to her non-custodial parent.

In rare circumstances the need for the Non-Custodial PROFILE application can be waived. To apply for a waiver of the Non-Custodial PROFILE requirement, complete Saint Mary's Non-Custodial PROFILE Waiver application (Microsoft Word Format 96 KB).
