Lysistrata
3/29-31, 7:30 p.m.
4/1, 2:30 p.m.
One of the few surviving plays written by Aristophanes, this play was originally performed in ancient Greece. This is a comic account of one woman's extraordinary mission to end The Peloponnesian War by persuading the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace — a strategy that inflames the battle between the sexes.
This performance is presented by the Department of Communication Studies, Dance and Theatre.
