Belles Sunk by Hornets

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's swim team saw firsthand why Kalamazoo's women's team ranks among the top 25 in Division III swimming on Friday night as the Hornets handed the Belles a 213-75 defeat.

Leading the Belles on the night was senior Audrey Dalrymple, who took first place in both the 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. She also finished second in the 100 breaststroke and swam the breaststroke leg of the Belles' medley relay in the night's first event.

Megan Price and Liz Palmer finished second and third, respectively, in the 1000 freestyle for the Belles. Price touched the wall in 11:40.43 while Palmer turned in an 11:56.21.

Anna Nolan took second place in the 100 backstroke with a 1:05.34 while also finishing second in the 50 freestyle in 26.44 for Saint Mary's on Friday. Genevieve Spittler also picked up a second place finish for the Belles in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:32.90.

The Belles hit the water again next Friday, November 4 when they host Hope at Rolfs Aquatic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
