Alicia Dombkowski enters her second season as the head coach of the Belles swimming and diving program in 2009.

Prior to being named as the head coach of the program, Alicia Dombkowski has served as a volunteer assistant under her husband Ryan Dombkowski. Ryan Dombkowski will continue to serve on the coaching staff as well as maintaining his teaching role within the Saint Mary’s biology department.

“Being a Saint Mary’s graduate, I know how beneficial being a student-athlete can be at such a quality school," Dombkowski commented. "In the past few years, we’ve gotten progressively better in and out of the pool and I see that continuing for a long time to come.”

Alicia Dombkowski graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2002 with a bachelor’s of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing while minoring in mathematics. She was a three-year letter winner for the Belles swimming squad where she swam mostly distance freestyle and backstroke events. The native of Indiana, Penn., helped set two College records in relay events and was named the squad’s MVP on one occasion.

In addition to her coaching duties, Alicia Dombkowski will continue to serve as the Program Coordinator at the Northern Indiana Cancer Research Consortium. She has served in that role since July of 2006.

Last season the Belles set sixteen new school records while finishing the season in 5th place at the MIAA Championships in Dombkowski's first season at the helm of the program.  Dombkowski and her husband Ryan reside in South Bend with their infant son Reece.  She is the College’s fifth head coach since Saint Mary’s joined the MIAA during the 1997-98 season.
