The MIAA softball tournament only invites the top four teams from the regular season competition and for the last three seasons (and four of the last five) the Belles have made the trip to the league's postseason event.

After claiming the 2004 tournament championship over Alma, the third ranked team in the nation, Saint Mary’s has found its way back there the last three seasons. Most recently the Belles got a stellar play from Ashley Peterson who became the College's first softball All-American. The sophomore posted an overall batting average of .500 en route to claiming the national honor. In addition to Peterson's 2008 performance, McKenna Corrigan posted an undefeated regular season record on the mound.

The squad has also posted positive numbers in the classroom. During the 2007 campaign the team accumulated a 3.38 team GPA which not only earned them MIAA honor roll accolades but also placed them 17th in the entire nation.

Erin Sullivan ’04 has been the leader behind the operation and is entering her fourth season at the helm of the program.
