How does my number of credits reflect my lottery number? Does a better GPA mean a better lottery number?

The lottery numbers are divided by class statuses. These statuses are determined by a specific number of credits. The number of credits you have will categorize everyone into 4 statuses: Rising Fifth-year Seniors, Rising Seniors, Rising Juniors, and Rising Sophomores. Once you are fit into a status, the lottery numbers are assigned randomly. For example, if you have a higher number of credits, it does NOT necessarily mean that you will receive at better lottery number. Unfortunately, higher GPAs are not reflective of better lottery numbers.

Is there still a quota set for this year?

No, the quota has been removed for the upcoming year. All sections will be available for upper-class students except Queens Court in Le Mans, which is the only section offline for first-year students.

Will Annunciata Hall still be open for seniors next year?

Yes, this hall will still be open for seniors.

What do I do if the rooms that I want have already been chosen during room selection?

At room selection, you will have an opportunity to put your name on a waiting list. In the meantime, you will have to select a room during selection.

Where do I find information on the process of Room Selection?

This information will be available on the Residence Life website closer to the Room Selection date.

How does it work if I want to live with someone who has a lower (or higher) class status than me?

You will attend the room selection night for the person in your group who has the lower (or “best”) lottery number. If for example, you are a senior and want to live with 2 juniors, all 3 of you will attend the rising senior room selection and select with the senior’s lottery number.

What if I can’t fill an entire room?

In order to select a room during room selection, you must have a full room. Students who are looking for roommates are encouraged to attend the Roommate Social in McCandless Vendoland on Tuesday, March 2 at 7pm.
