Opus Housing Selection
2012-2013 Academic Year Opus Hall Selection
Eligibility

Students must have been a residential student for 6 semesters or a transfer student who has lived on-campus at Saint Mary’s for 4 semesters prior to August 2012. Semester’s abroad count as toward the residency requirement.

Students must be approved for participation in the May 2013 graduation ceremonies.

Students must have no academic or disciplinary probation history since August 1, 2010. Students who are placed on disciplinary or academic probation after being selected for and/or living in Opus will lose their space.
Opus Selection will be a public lottery. The process is as follows:

Each member of an apartment grouping (2 or 4 people) must attend one information session together in order to receive an application. The information sessions are scheduled on January 18th and January 19th from 7:00-8:00pm in the Student Cetner, Conf. Rooms D-F. Students who are unable to attend because of an academic commitment, may give their apartment group member(s) their SMC ID card to pick up an application on their behalf.

Students living abroad must email reslife@saintmarys.edu to confirm of which apartment group they will be a part.

Alternates are not required to be listed on your application.

Applications are due at 4:30pm on January 26th to the Office of Residence Life and Community Standards.

The first person listed on the application will be considered the group leader. The leader will be given a number that corresponds with the group’s application.

Opus Selection will take place on February 1st @ 5:30pm in Stapleton Lounge. Opus Selection numbers are drawn randomly and kept in order for apartment selection. The group leader must attend.

Students will select their apartment in the order of which their Opus Selection number is drawn.

Housing Agreements must be signed the night of Selection.
