The Department of Residence Life & Community Standards (DRLCS) supports the mission of Saint Mary’s College by creating a safe and inclusive community that promotes the personal growth and success of each student through intentional programming, showing personal attention to student needs, and upholding our community standards.

The Residential Experience
Eighty-four percent of Saint Mary’s students live in one of five residence halls. Each hall has its own distinct character. Part of this character is tied to the history of the building, its architecture, and its unique attributes. Yet, the true identity of these halls is determined by the women who call them home. Every fall, each hall develops a new and distinct personality.
Our Community
When you arrive on campus at Saint Mary's College, you join a community of amazing women from across the country and around the world. The halls are a vibrant community where each student is supported, respected, and valued. Whether you’re enjoying late-night chats in your room, studying for tests, or getting your floor-mates together on an intramural dodge ball team, you’ll enjoy friendships with women from various backgrounds and with wide-ranging interests. The six (6) semester residency requirement ensures that students get the most out of their college experience.
Each of the traditional halls is staffed by a professional Hall Director (HD) and a number of Resident Advisors (RA) who coordinate community development. HDs and RAs work closely together to make the residence halls a home away from home.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is the primary student organization that works with the Office of Residence Life and Community Standards to improve the on campus living experience. To find out more about RHA, please visit their website.
