In its 2008 annual survey of America's Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report ranks Saint Mary's among the Top 100 National Liberal Arts Colleges and has ranked Saint Mary's the No. 1 Midwest Comprehensive College for 12 of the last 13 years. The Princeton Reviewand Barron’s have recognized Saint Mary’s as a top college. Golf Digest ranks Saint Mary’s as one of the top three schools in the nation for student athletes who are interested in rigorous academics and playing collegiate golf.

Nationally Accredited
Saint Mary’s has six nationally accredited programs, including art, chemistry and physics, education, music, nursing, and social work. We were the first Catholic women’s college to receive the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) accreditation.

Prepared Graduates
Approximately 25–30 percent of Saint Mary’s students go directly into graduate programs. They are accepted into well-known graduate schools, such as Carnegie-Mellon, Rutgers, and the University of Chicago.

Saint Mary’s alumnae succeed in a wide range of fields regionally, nationally, and internationally. Most years, 100 percent of accounting majors receive job offers before graduation. More than 81 percent of Saint Mary’s recent graduates are in graduate school or pursuing careers in industry, business, and government. Three current U.S. Representatives are graduates of Saint Mary’s College.
