Description: The South Bend Chamber Singers, the region's premier vocal chamber ensemble, announces auditions for experienced singers. Singers should bring a prepared solo, and sight-reading and aural abilities will be tested. An accompanist is provided.

The South Bend Chamber Singers, under the direction of conductor and Saint Mary's College music professor Nancy Menk, is preparing for its 22nd season. Below are the scheduled events.

They will perform in the world premiere of IUSB composer Jorge Muñiz’s new Requiem for the Innocent, with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Tsung Yeh on October 2 at the Morris Performing Arts Center.

The annual Christmas at Loretto concert on December 19 at Saint Mary's features the world premieres of new works written for the Singers by American composers Elizabeth Alexander and Derek Healey.

On March 27, the Singers will present Howls and Meows!, Choral Music for our Furry Friends, a benefit concert for the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.  The program features music about cats, dogs, (and a few fleas!), including a newly commissioned work by Edie Hill.

In the spring the Chamber Singers have the honor of presenting the world premiere of Indiana composer Howard Terrell’s oratorio, Sing a New Song. The Heartland Chamber Chorale of Fort Wayne will join with the Chamber Singers to present Terrell’s oratorio for the first time on June 3 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Fort Wayne, with repeat performances on June 4 at Bouton Auditorium on the campus of Howe Military Academy, and on June 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of Loretto on the Saint Mary’s campus.
