September 30, 2009 (Notre Dame, Ind.)- The Saint Mary’s College Moreau Center for the Arts took its ticket sales online earlier this month. The new electronic box office provides the Office of Special Events with the ability to provide customers with a convenient and secure option to purchase tickets over the Internet. The electronic system also provides Special Events with a database of patrons with whom to share news of upcoming events.

In addition to the ability to buy tickets online, patrons may choose their seats at the time of their purchase if the event requires assigned seating. Patrons also have the choice to print their tickets from their personal computers instead of picking them up at the Moreau box office prior to the event. The new technology includes tickets with barcodes, which are scanned at the door to the auditorium or theatre.

“This technology is revolutionizing the way Saint Mary’s College tickets events. We now can provide real-time seating options to our patrons 24/7,” said Chris Sallak, Patron Services and Marketing Manager for Special Events.

Saint Mary’s hopes to expand the ability to purchase tickets online to athletics and other events on campus that may require a ticket. To purchase a ticket for an event go to MoreauCenter.com and look for the “Purchase tickets now!” icon under the events description. The Moreau Center for the Arts Web site will soon have a new layout to make purchasing tickets even easier.
