May 3, 2008 (Notre Dame, Ind.)— Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton, is coming to Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, on Monday, May 5, the eve of the Indiana primary. She will talk to  students attending Late Night Desserts, an exam study break held annually in the Noble Dining Hall in the Student Center. Ms. Clinton is expected to arrive at the dining hall at 10 p.m. and stay through Late Night Desserts, which is scheduled to end at 11 p.m. The press is invited to attend, but the event is closed to the public. Ms. Clinton will talk with students about her mother’s bid for the presidency and take questions from students. Ms. Clinton has been visiting college campuses across the state and the country during the campaign, even visiting with University of Notre Dame students in March.

Saint Mary’s College does not endorse political candidates, but invited the three presidential candidates—Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Barack Obama, and Senator John McCain—to campus in an effort to expose our students to the political process in real time. Only the Clinton campaign has accepted the invitation. Last month Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and a supporter of Hillary Clinton’s bid for the presidency, visited the College to meet with students, faculty and staff.
