Saint Mary’s College is the proud recipient of a rare Heritage Edition of The Saint John’s Bible. This fine art reproduction of the original hand-calligraphied, hand-illuminated Bible was blessed at the school’s Opening Mass on August 25, and then on permanent display in the Cushwa-Leighton Library.

Saint John’s Abbey and University in Collegeville, Minnesota commissioned the creation of The Saint John’s Bible in 1998 and artists are still working on completing it. No project of this kind has been undertaken since the advent of the printing press in the 15th century. Representatives from Saint John’s Abbey and University gave the media a peak inside the pages of the sacred work.
