Pre-Law Information

Regardless of which major a student chooses, a student who intends to apply to law school is encouraged to pursue a broad liberal arts education which develops strong analytical, research, and communication skills. The Department of Political Science offers four public law courses: Introduction to American Law, American Civil Liberties, U.S. Constitution, and International Law.

Professor Sean J. Savage serves as the pre-law adviser for the Department of Political Science. Law School Admission Test (LSAT) information and registration booklets are available from the Career Crossings Office and at www.lsac.org. Upon request, Dr. Savage provides or lends materials to students regarding the decision of whether to attend law school, the choice of which law school to attend, descriptive guides of law schools, suggestions for writing personal statements for law school applications, and information on joint programs.
