In summer 2009 the OCSE helped to fund two graduating seniors from Saint Mary's as they traveled to Ghana, West Africa to work with the Sisters of the Holy Cross for a year. The Sisters run Our Lady of Holy Cross school in Kasoa, which serves children in the surrounding area. Katie Yohe and Megan Ryan will be serving as teachers until summer 2010. They live in community with the Sisters and share in all aspects of community life including meals, worship, and prayer.
After arrival in Ghana, Megan and Katie set up a blog to share their experiences. To visit the blog and learn about what they are doing, go to:

The OCSE hopes that partnerships like this one with the Sisters will continue to be possible in the future!
