Information Science Minor
By taking courses within the computer science department, develop an understanding of computer programming and computer literacy with a minor in Information Science. You will study areas of mathematics, science, business, and social science, computer software theory and programming. A hands-on approach to the topics of communications and computer science will enhance your knowledge and nurture the skills that will benefit you in a variety of careers.
Minor in Information Science (14-16 hours)
- CPSC 103 Introduction to Computers
- CPSC 207 Computer Programming
- CPSC 217 COBOL Programming in Business Systems
- One of the following:
- CPSC 417 Systems Analysis and Design
- CPSC 429 Data Base Systems
- One additional course of the following:
- CPSC 315 Simulation: Theory and Application
- CPSC 328 Data Structures
- CPSC 417 Systems Analysis and Design
- CPSC 429 Data Base Systems
Students with appropriate preparation may substitute any 300/400 level Computer Science course for CPSC 103 Introduction to Computers.
