Midwest Faculty Seminars

One of the truly exciting programs offered by Saint Mary's College to faculty is the Midwest Faculty Seminars at the University of Chicago.

Since 1971, the University of Chicago has joined with liberal arts colleges in the Midwest to create an opportunity for faculty at the University of Chicago and at the 24 member colleges to discuss a variety of topics. The program offers an opportunity for faculty at member colleges to enjoy the resources available at a major research university. It also enables our faculty to engage each other in sustained scholarly debates in a setting free from the competing demands of teaching and service. In turn, University of Chicago faculty can engage in conversation about scholarly research and its connections with liberal education.

Saint Mary's College may send seven participants during 2009-2010. All full-time faculty are eligible, with preference given to tenure-track faculty. Preference will also be given to those who have not attended before.
