Requirements
Three degrees are available in Art. Choose from a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Art; Bachelor of Art, Major in Art with a concentration in either Studio Art or Art History.
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), Major in Art (78 hours)
- ART 101 Drawing I
- ART 102 Drawing II
- ART 103 2D Design
- ART 104 3D Design
- ART 241 and 242 Art History Survey I and II (or ART 251RM and 252R Italian Art History I and II abroad in Rome)
- ART 495 Senior Comprehensive in Studio Art (in area of emphasis)
- 45 additional hours in studio classes
- Six hours in upper-level art history classes
- Six hours in correlative courses (from an approved list of art-related courses)
Participation in portfolio reviews every semester is also required, and you need to maintain an avaerage 3.0 GPA in all art courses. Art majors concentrating in Studio Art must complete four courses (12 hours) in an area of emphasis chosen in consultation with her advisor in the Art Department.
