Humanistic Studies develops attitudes and abilities prized in a variety of jobs. Because our majors work closely with each other and their professors throughout the entire Program, they learn to work together as a team. Discussion seminars teach students how to persuade others and build consensus. Interpreting original texts requires students to tolerate ambiguity and to make independent judgments. Making class presentations teaches them to organize and present their ideas effectively.
For advice about networking with Humanistic Studies alumnae, please visit the Counseling and Career Development Center in LeMans Hall. The Center houses the Alumnae Resource Network, a computer-based system that links students with alumnae to discuss the job search process. The Network provides information about our graduates' entry-level job, career history, and current position.
