Summer Employment


Human Resources administers the Summer Employment Program at Saint Mary’s College.  Summer employment begins May 17, 2010.  The positions available are normally held by Saint Mary’s students during the academic year, or are temporary positions to help departments during the summer months (building services and special events).   Most positions are clerical.


The College’s priority hiring policy outlined below will be used when making hiring decisions:


1)      Current full or part-time employees who work on a nine or ten-month schedule.


2)      Continuing Saint Mary’s students.


3)      Daughters and sons of faculty, administration and staff.


4)      Daughters and sons of the President’s Cabinet.


5)      Saint Mary’s graduates of the class of 2010.


6)      Children of employees of Sisters of the Holy Cross.


7)      Daughters and sons of employees of other Sisters of the Holy Cross Institutions.


8)      All other applicants.


Applications are available to be picked up in the office of Human Resources located in the Facilities Building on campus and can be picked up between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Applications are not available on-line.   Any applicant under the age of 18 that is hired for a position will be required to obtain a work permit at that time.
