VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
FIBERS/FOUNDATION DRAWING

Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a full-time, sabbatical replacement (August 2012 to May 2013) to teach three courses per semester in Fibers and Introductory Drawing. Opportunity to teach a course in Video Art dependent on candidate’s qualifications.

MFA required.  Undergraduate teaching experience and professional activity/exhibition record preferred.  Knowledge required of one or more of the following fiber processes: fabric dyeing and printing, papermaking, felting, needle arts, or other non-woven, material based processes including the incorporation of new technologies.  Candidates with knowledge of digital video editing (Final Cut Pro) are encouraged to apply.  Review of credentials begins immediately and continues until position is filled. Visiting Assistant Professor in Social Work

The Department of Social Work of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN, a Catholic, four-year women’s college, is seeking to fill a visiting assistant professor position in Social Work for the 2012-2013 academic year.  Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Social Work courses in the curriculum areas of human behavior and the social environment, introduction to social work, social work practice with individuals and groups, and mental health.  Faculty also provide academic advising to students. 

Qualifications include an M.S.W. from a CSWE-accredited program and two (2) years of post-M.S.W. practice experience.  A doctorate or ABD in social work or a closely related field is preferred.  Preference will be given to applicants who have teaching experience in undergraduate social work education.

Tenure Track Position

The Department of Nursing, Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in nursing beginning August 2011. Beginning Academic Year 2012-13

The Department of Business Administration and Economics at Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance beginning in August 2012.  Candidates must hold an earned doctorate (PhD in finance or other related doctoral degree preferred) or an MBA with significant professional experience and/or certifications (CFA, CFP, CLU) in finance.  We seek candidates who have a passion for undergraduate teaching.  We are especially interested in candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching Principles of Finance as well as courses in Investments, Management of Financial Institutions, Financial Statement Analysis, and/or International Financial Management.

                      Assistant Professor of Latin American Literature and Culture

Assistant Professor of English (Global Anglophone Literature)

Saint Mary's College seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in English, beginning August 2012.  Area:  Global Anglophone, with regional specialty such as Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, or South Asia.  Contemporary emphasis particularly welcome.

                    Assistant Professor in the Department of Religious Studies

Saint Mary's College announces a one-year full-time position (possibility of renewal) in Ethics at the ABD or assistant professor level in the Department of Religious Studies, beginning in August, 2012. Candidates should have expertise in the area of religious and theological ethics, as well as literacy in a broad range of issues in religious studies. Ability to teach comparative ethics and interreligious dialogue is desirable. Candidates should be able to teach introductory courses in religious studies, a second general education course in Catholic social thought, and an upper-level seminar in theological ethics.  Tenure Track Assistant Professor - Communication Studies, Media Studies

The Department of Communication Studies, Dance, & Theatre of Saint Mary’s College, a Catholic women’s college located in Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Media Studies to begin in August, 2012.  Communication Studies, one of the largest programs on campus, also has two minors:  Public Relations & Advertising and a cross-disciplinary minor in Public Communication.

The Department is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to teach a seven course load, to include courses in Media Studies and Mass Communication as well as the Introduction to Communication survey course. 

Ph.D. preferred.  ABD considered.  Teaching experience required.  Starting date is August 16, 2012. Classes begin on August 20, 2012.
