Director of Gift Planning:  Saint Mary’s College seeks a Director of Gift Planning to serve as the College’s representative for gift planning for the development and administration of a comprehensive gift planning campaign.  Also responsible for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of a prospect pool of approximately 200 individuals and serves as primary representative for the Mother Pauline Society, the College’s gift planning society.   Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and three to five years of experience in gift planning preferred.  Strong knowledge of estate planning, finance and tax law preferred.  Ability to travel 50% of the time.  

Director of Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations:  Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN seeks a full-time Director of Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations.  Primary duties include: writing successful grant proposals and requests for financial support; researching and building relationships with private foundations, corporations, and government agencies; and working closely with College administrators and faculty to identify strategic initiatives that would lend themselves to foundation or corporate support.  Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of related experience with a minimum of two years of experience in the general area of grants or corporate, foundation and government relations.

Major Gifts Director:  Saint Mary’s College seeks a Director of Major Gifts to identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit partners within an assigned region with a gift capacity of $25,000+.   Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a minimum of five years of direct fundraising experience or transferable marketing/sales skills strongly preferred.  Extensive travel is necessary.

Admission Counselor:  Saint Mary’s College has an immediate opening for a full-time admission counselor to coordinate and implement recruiting activities within an assigned territory, serve as liaison to high school counselors, evaluate applicants for admission and interview prospective students and their parents. Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional public speaking and telephone skills. Strong organizational ability, high energy, a willingness to travel nationally, valid driver’s license and good driving record, and computer skills are required for this position. Candidates must also have the ability to work as a team member in an enrollment management setting.  A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree or a minimum of one year of work experience is preferred.

Assistant Director of International Admission:  Saint Mary’s College has an immediate full-time opening in the Office of Admission, coordinating and implementing international student recruitment efforts. Candidates must possess excellent communication, organizational, teamwork and computer skills, an operational knowledge of SEVIS and USCIS policies and procedures, an understanding of international education systems, a valid drivers’ license, and a willingness to travel internationally. A bachelor’s degree and experience recruiting international students in a higher education setting is required; a relevant advanced degree, experience living abroad, second-language proficiency, and experience with liberal arts, women’s, and Catholic colleges are all preferred.

Assistant Director of Annual Giving:  Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN seeks an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to write fundraising communications that advance Saint Mary’s. This position also manages the direct mail/email programs and maintains the web presence for the Annual Giving office. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will work in partnership with the Director of Annual Giving to develop, plan, and implement a robust direct and electronic mail program soliciting alumnae, parents, friends and students.  The Assistant Director will also be responsible for developing and managing content for the annual giving website. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives supervision from the Director of Annual Giving.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

May exercise supervision over assigned clerical staff, student volunteers and/or student employees.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  • B.A. in English, communications, marketing or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of related work experience with preference for development or annual giving experience.
  • Advanced written communication skills with demonstrated ability to creatively and persuasively convey messages.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and Access is preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills; use of effective tracking methods to complete work and projects in time required.
  • Ability to analyze data related to direct mail strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plans, writes, coordinates and implements the production and delivery of the Annual Giving and Belles Varsity Club direct mail program and email communications program.
  • Assists the Director in planning cultivation and solicitation for the giving societies.
  • Prepares quarterly Annual Fund ads for the Courier.
  • Oversees the content and development of the Annual Giving website.
  • Manages the matching gift program.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the outcomes of programs and, consistent with the most current market research, adjusts the plan accordingly to increase donor acquisition and retention, as well as gift renewal.
  • Develops, maintains and circulates a calendar of all annual giving communications/publications.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving and the Office of Integrated Marketing Communications, the assistant director will ensure that the annual giving message is consistent with the College’s brand.
  • Works collaboratively with all areas of the Development office to advance fundraising goals.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

Assistant Director - Office for Civic and Social Engagement: Saint Mary’s College seeks a part-time (20 hours/week; 10 months/year) Assistant Director to assist with the development, implementation and administration of community service programs for students and to supervise the College Academy of Tutoring (CAT) program.  Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of two years of administrative experience in the area of community service/volunteerism and strong computer skills.
 

Director - Human Resources:  Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN seeks a hands-on, working Director of Human Resources to plan, implement and manage the human resource function of the College.  Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a minimum of five years of related work experience, preferably in a higher education setting, strong knowledge of applicable state and federal laws related to human resources management, and a strong knowledge of computerized human resource information systems.  Banner experience is a plus.  Must also have an understanding of and commitment to the mission of Saint Mary’s College.

Assistant Director, Web Communications:  Saint Mary’s College seeks a full-time web developer.  Responsible for the day-to-day back-end operations of the College’s internet and intranet websites. Will also assist in the development, implementation, enhancement and/or maintenance of multiple department/division websites and act as resource for web-based projects. Also conducts user training of content management system for various offices. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and web development experience. Must have experience on a Mac platform, expert knowledge of semantic HTML and CSS, experience with open source content management systems -- preferably Drupal, and familiarity with PHP/MySQL, Adobe Creative Suite, Flash and Javascript/JQuery.

General Statement of Duties:

Plans and leads activity related to upgrade, enhancement, and maintenance of Saint Mary’s College administrative software, including the Banner ERP system. Spearheads administrative systems analysis activity and assists in the selection and development of administrative software for the College. Works with the College community to identify new administrative system needs and to prioritize the resolution of these needs. Serves as a ‘hands-on’ manager with responsibility to ensure that the administrative systems team works to effectively meet the College’s Administrative systems needs in the instructional and administrative areas of the College.

Supervision Received:

General supervision and direction is received from the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Supervision Exercised:

This position exercises functional supervision over programming staff. Also may supervise student workers as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Experience in higher education’s administrative and instructional technology and be fluent in its language and capable of translating technical information into non-technical
  • Familiarity with all Banner modules used by the College and technical experience with human resources and financial modules
  • Solid and provable working knowledge of systems analysis and design methods.
  • Proficient knowledge related to Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems, including use of compilers, shell scripting, and web interfaces.
  • Solid familiarity with potential open source solutions.
  • Demonstrable systems troubleshooting skills.
  • Provable Oracle internals and PL/SQL coding expertise, as it relates to Banner.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of database design, use and tuning.

Examples of Dueies:

  1. Ensuring the development and implementation of database backup procedures to ensure data integrity, making sure adequate resources are available.
  2. Ensuring timely application of Banner and other software upgrades and patches to meet needs related to Banner system performance.
  3. Ensuring that appropriate security is configured in Oracle and Banner to protect SMC data while allowing users to effectively perform their jobs.
  4. Providing direct user primary support for one or more major Banner modules, with a strong preference for the HR and/or Finance module.
  5. Providing secondary support for all other Banner module users.
  6. Collaborating in the development of reporting processes using institutional administrative system data. These processes should support end user self-reporting, wherever possible and practical.
  7. Confirming that appropriate interfaces are developed for data sharing between the administrative data bases and other college systems (i.e., Security, Blackboard, and Dining Services) and with external systems (Follett, Sodexo).
  8. Helping users identify and use appropriate procedures and software, thereby allowing them to perform more effectively.
  9. Providing oversight for related coding, testing and documentation activity.
  10. Assisting the CIO in maintaining effective communication between the Department, the
    College community, and vendors.
  11. Performing other duties as required.

Director of Instructional Technology:  Saint Mary’s College seeks a full-time, 12 months per year, Director of Instructional Technology. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this position is responsible for all aspects of Instructional Technology across the College. The Director's team will provide instructional support and development for faculty; advise and consult with faculty and researchers in the design, development and implementation of instructional content that will be used in traditional on-campus courses, blended, and on-line courses; support and design services for the use of technology in the classroom; support for digital media initiatives; serve as the Blackboard administrator and provide development, training and support for Blackboard; media services and access for instruction and special events; plan, coordinate and conduct workshops on the use of new technologies; conduct research on emerging technologies for use in an academic setting; management of the technology classrooms and the Huisking Instructional Technology Resource Center including student employees; oversight of SMCTV and documentation of training and development activities.

This position requires a M.S. degree in instructional technology, educational media or closely-related field, including the following:

  • Delivery of technical training to faculty in group and individualized sessions
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Windows 7
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the administration and use of the Blackboard Course Management System
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in instruction and use of web and media based technologies for education such as but not limited to Flash Professional, Final Cut ProX, Camtasia, Panopto, ilife,  Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to provide technical support to students operating a college on campus TV station
  • Ability to both work and train in PC and Mac environments
  • Instruction of faculty in the development of online courses utilizing standards, course design principles  and best practices
  • Instruction and development of faculty in educational theories, including instructional systems design and learning theory
