Statistics
Eighty-seven percent of Saint Mary’s faculty have terminal degrees in their fields. You’ll learn in small classes averaging 16 students with a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1. Faculty will know you and guide you - you'll be taught by professors, not teaching assistants.

Achievements
Saint Mary’s faculty have tremendous credentials and achievements. Just a few of many recent faculty accomplishments include:

  • Michael M. Waddell, PhD, was installed as the holder of the Edna and George McMahon Aquinas Chair in Philosophy on September 28, 2011.
  • The Maria Pieta Award for teaching excellence awarded to political science  professor Patrick Pierce at Commencement 2011.
  • Biology professor and department chair, Nancy Nekvasil was awarded the Spes Unica Award for eminent service to the College at Commencement 2011.
  • 2011 Woman of the Year award to mathematics professor Mary Connolly from the Student Board of Governance on behalf of the student body.
  • Business professor Mary Ann Merryman led a team of accounting students to first place in the 2010 Indiana Certified Public Accountant Society's collegiate contest.
