Have you always wondered why people behave the way they do? As a sociology major at Saint Mary’s, you will look at the world through the lenses of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual identity, age, and class. You will analyze individual social behaviors, such as family relationships, criminal activities, shopping and consumption patterns, and religious affiliation. And, you’ll explore global social issues, such as the impact of multinational mass media, colonialization, war, and immigration patterns. As a sociology major, you will gain a new sense of yourself and the world around you.
