German Program

The German Program offers courses at the introductory and intermediate levels to fulfill the Saint Mary's College modern languages requirement. To further enhance our program, language clubs and foreign study opportunities are available as well. Qualified students are encouraged to study abroad in Innsbruck, Austria. A minor or a major in German may be completed through courses at the University of Notre Dame.

 

German Courses

  • MLGR 101-102: Introductory German I & II: Designed to give beginning students a basic knowledge of the language as well as the cultures of the German speaking world. College hours will not be given if units in German have been earned in high school.
  • MLGR 111-112: Intermediate German I & II: Designed to develop intermediate skills according to the needs of the students. Study of German cultures is an integral part of the course.
