2009 Alumnae 5K Registration

This year, the Alumnae Race is enacting as part of a larger service project for the team. As many of you may already know, each varsity sport is required to complete both an on and off campus service project throughout the year. In the summer of 2008, Caitlin Brodmerkel ('09) spent ten weeks on a service trip to Uganda aiding the people by working in the local clinic and teaching the children. This summer, senior captain Megan McClowry also went to Uganda for a much similar mission. Both women have been profoundly touched by their experience and have shared their stories with us. As a result, we would like to make this year's race a fundraising event for the people that both of these women worked with in Uganda.

Therefore, at this year's Alumnae Race rather than an entry fee, we are asking people to donate old, gently used shoes and/or funds to send to Uganda. Our hope is to send as many shoes as we can and any monetary donation to go to the small village that they became a part of during their time in Uganda.
