If the 2007 is any indication of where the Saint Mary's cross country program is headed, then there is a lot of reason for optimism.
Last season the Belles won two races as they took the team title at the Thunder and Benedictine Invitationals. They also posted their best MIAA finish in College history as they claimed fourth place at the league championships.
Megan Gray ended her four years at Saint Mary's by qualifying for the NCAA Championships in both her junior and senior campaigns. Gray was named to the MIAA First Team in each of those seasons as well.
Off the course the squad had the best academic performance among all eight teams at Saint Mary's with a 3.51 GPA during the 2007-2008 academic year. They placed 13 runners on the MIAA honor roll with each of those runners posting a GPA of 3.5 or better.
With Jackie Bauters ’04 entering her fourth season at the helm of the program the Belles look to climb among the MIAA elite this season.
