The 2006 season proved to be a breakout season for the Cross Country program at Saint Mary's.

For the first time in College history, the Belles placed two runners on the MIAA All-Conference squad as both Megan Gray and Sara Otto received First and Second Team accolades respectively. Gray had arguably one of the best individual seasons in school history as she became the first Belle harrier to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championship race.

Off the course the squad had the best academic performance among all eight teams at Saint Mary's with a 3.45 GPA. They placed 16 runners on the MIAA honor roll with each of those runners posting a GPA of 3.5 or better.

With Jackie Bauters ’04 in her third-season at the helm of the program the Belles look to climb among the MIAA elite this season.
