| Helpful Information about Parking on Campus May 14 - 18, 2008 |
Parking and traffic will be somewhat restricted this week as we approach Commencement on May 17th, 2008. Security asks your patience and understanding with the following necessary restrictions:
Tuesday morning – Friday Night
Parking will be restricted at the front of LeMans Hall extending into the great lawn beginning on Wednesday morning. This is necessary to get chairs in and allow Building Services to begin the multiple day set-up for Commencement. Deliveries will still be allowed during this time.
Students will be allowed access to the area in front of O’Laughlin Auditorium to the bus stop, the east side of LeMans by Haggar Hall, and the back of LeMans by the dock, for loading vehicles until 6p.m. on Thursday evening (May 15th). Once vehicles are loaded they should be moved to the parking lots as a courtesy to other students trying to move out.
By 10 p.m. on Thursday evening, all vehicles should be moved out of the entire LeMans Hall area. The LeMans roadway at the Avenue will be shut off at that time until after Commencement.
Friday
All day – The College is asking the Faculty and Staff to not park in the Faculty Staff/Dining Hall parking lot. This area is reserved for visitors and guests attending Commencement activities. The South end of the Faculty and Staff/Dining Hall lot is reserved for dignitary parking. No other vehicles will be allowed in this lot.
Also: faculty/staff/students should not park vehicles in the first row of Angela (nearest to building) beginning on Friday morning (May 16th) through Commencement on Saturday. This area will be reserved for handicapped parking.
Havican Lane will be blocked to all vehicular traffic from McCandless Dr. to Havican Hall, until Saturday afternoon.
For the Nurses pinning, at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, no parking is allowed in Bertrand lot or on River Road for students, visitors or guests. Parking will be in the Dining Hall and Regina lots. Golf carts are available for those with walking difficulties. A bus will be stationed at the Church to shuttle those with walking difficulties over to the reception at Stapleton Lounge after the pinning ceremony.
Saturday
Flower vendors, the ambulance, media, etc. will be allowed into the Commencement area.
After Commencement, LeMans, McCandless, and Havican Lane roadways will be released to regular traffic, once safe to do so. Some restrictions may apply. Please watch for Security and ask if you have any questions.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
