Meet the Class of 2015
This August, Saint Mary's College welcomed the Class of 2015 to the Saint Mary's family. The class included 397 first-year students from 34 states, 1 territory and 6 countries, 12 valedictorians and 41 students who maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA every semester. 126 students had an alumna connection to the College, and two students had a total of 6 Saint Mary's family alumnae connections.

Outside the Classroom
- 766 Advanced Placement (AP) courses were selected by incoming first year students as part of their high school curriculum.
- 108 students were selected as captain of a sport during their high school career.
- 57 college courses were completed by members of the class of 2015 in their senior year of high school.
- 22 students were involved in student government all 4 years of their high school career.
- 5 students received the Gold Scout Award and 9 students received the Silver Scout Award.
- 1 student was awarded Grand Champion in a division of the Lake Effect Horse Show Circuit.
- 1 student earned 3 gold cups for piano in the Duquesne Music Festival.
- 1 student earned $8000 in a year for a 100-mile bike ride through Montana, raising money for diabetes.
- 1 student was a member of the Missouri Division I Girls High School Soccer State Champion team.
- 1 student graduated from Memorial Hospital’s Mini Medical University.
- 1 student is a volunteer pallbearer for the homeless
- 1 student was a representative on Senator Lugar’s Leadership Symposium.
- 1 student was not only the captain of her swim team but was also a state champion in swimming.
- 1 student was a member of the Secret Knitting and Crocheting Society.
- 1 student was a semi-finalist at the Young Epidemiology Scholars competition.
- 1 student represented the United States in figure skating.
- 1 student received the Best Delegate Award out of over 100 students during her Model United Nations trip to China.
- 1 student donated over 100 hours of childcare so that her students’ parents could attend English as a Second Language classes.
- 1 student has lived in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Jakarta.
- 1 student was a soccer player for 10 years and was on the 2010 varsity soccer All District team.
- 1 student received the highest ACT score in her high school’s history.
- 1 student founded HOPE, a breast cancer awareness club.
- 1 student has 2 world awards for Irish Dance and 1 student is a member a competitive Greek folk dancing group.
- 1 student worked on a ranch in Wyoming (not her home state) for 2 summers.
- 1 student was the art editor her senior year, won an art award at Carnegie Hall as well as a National Gold Medal.
- 1 student performs advanced research thru collaboration with Notre Dame and received a Bayer Health Award.
- 1 student took 3rd at state for the Business Professionals of America.
- 1 student started the Agape Prayer Club at her school.
- 1 student interned at the Embassy in Rwanda.
- 1 student is a National Merit Commended student, took 1st in the golf conference and sectionals. She also owns her own flower business.
- 1 student was the State Champion for Future Problem Solvers and 1 student was State Champion in Spell Bowl.
- 1 student is co-president of Buy Sudan Connection Club, which raises money to send Sudanese refugees to a boarding High School in Kenya.
- 1 student plays piano, trumpet, and is a boxer.
- 1 student participated in Civil War re-enactments.
- 1 student is a black belt in Taekwondo.
- 1 student received the National Silver Medal from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for a novel that she wrote, one of three silver medals awarded out of 700 novel writing submissions.
