Nicole Thaner Nichol ’06--Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Plant Breeding and Genetics Program at Michigan State University, with a thesis on genetically modifying a potato variety for drought tolerance so that it can potentially be grown in developing countries where droughts are common and there is a lack of irrigation.
