March 2, 2010 (Notre Dame, Ind.) - The Saint Mary’s College basketball team will be reading to students at local school this Wednesday, March 3.

In conjunction with the Office of Civic and Social Engagement’s College Academy Tutoring program, the athletes are going to be helping students at Lincoln Primary Center in South Bend celebrate what would have been Dr. Seuss’ 106th birthday.

Along with the athletes, students and parents will be participating in the school’s Wacky Wednesday reading, which starts at 5:30 pm. Lincoln’s Family and Community Specialist, Daisy Navarette, is hoping for a great turnout.  Flyers were sent out to parents inviting them to attend.

Navarette stated, “Saint Mary's made a difference in my life as a student, and now it is making a difference amongst my students here at Lincoln Primary.”
