Saint Mary's earned their highest-ever finish in the MIAA's Women's All-Sport Standings at the conclusion of the 2008-09 academic year. The Belles edged out Albion by two points to finish third in the standings that go into determining the annual Commissioner's Cup. Points are awarded based upon each MIAA school's final conference standing in each sport. With one of the best years in the 30 year history of intercollegiate athletics, the Belles claimed third among the nine institutions making up the MIAA.
Congratulations, Belles!
Saint Mary's student-athletes are powerful in the classroom and on the playing fields. Our athletic program complements a student's overall educational experience. Six of our eight varsity teams were named to the MIAA-Academic Team. And over sixty percent of our student-athletes have been named to the Dean's List. Our coaches and staff mentor student-athletes and show them the path to excellence. Many teams continually earn NCAA Division III Coaches All-American Academic Honors.
In additon to our varsity athletic programs, students can also join the cheerleading squad and club sports teams. Intramurals and excellent fitness equipment invite all students to have fun while they stay fit.
