NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary’s College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Jason Kolean, A.T.C, has joined the College as the director of sports medicine.

Athletics - Belles Student-Athletes Honored for Outstanding Academics
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Over forty individual student-athletes and two teams were honored by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association for their academic performances for the 2010-11 school year.
Athletics - Hall of Fame Inductees Announced
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary’s College Athletic Department is proud to announce that two individuals and one team will be added to the Hall of Fame during the College’s annual Reunion festivities this June.
Athletics - 2011 Senior Awards Presented
On the afternoon of May 1, each of the members of the class of 2011 who have participated in Saint Mary's Athletics were honored at the annual Senior Awards Banquet. Several special awards were also bestowed, including the Marvin Wood Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Nearly fifty Saint Mary's College student-athletes were honored for their academic achievements by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association by being named to the conference's academic honor roll.

SAAC - Saint Mary’s Student-Athletes to Present Check to Sisters of the Holy Cross
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary’s College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and their “Belles for Africa” initiative will present a check for more than $5,150 to the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Friday, December 11 on behalf of the Sisters’ group stationed in Uganda.

Athletics - Student-Athletes and Teams Earn MIAA Academic Honors
ROYAL OAK, Mich. - 51 Saint Mary's student-athletes were among the numerous honorees named to the 2008-09 MIAA Academic Honor Roll as announced by the conference office. Additionally, three of the College's varsity teams earned Team GPA Honors.
Athletics - Belles Earn Highest Finish Ever in Commissioner's Cup Standings
ROYAL OAK, Mich. - Earlier this week, the final standings for the 2008-2009 MIAA Commissioner's Cup were released by the conference office. Saint Mary's finished the school year in third in the Women's All-Sport Standings for the College's highest-ever finish.

Athletics - Saint Mary's Names New Director of Athletics
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary’s College has a new director of athletics and recreation. Karen Johnson, Vice President for Student Affairs, announced today that Julie Schroeder-Biek ’88, who has served as the acting director since September, accepted the position.
Athletics - Schroeder-Biek Named Interim Athletic Director
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Julie Schroeder-Biek '88 has been named Interim Athletic Director after Lynn Kachmarik's announcement that she would be stepping down from her position. Schroeder-Biek is in her 14th year in the Athletic Department and will continue her duties as the head volleyball coach.
Athletics - Saint Mary's Selected to Join NCAA's CHAMPS/Life Skills Program
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Saint Mary’s College has been selected from a pool of applicants as one of 31 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) schools to join the CHAMPS (Challenging Athletes’ Minds for Personal Success)/ Life Skills Program in the fall of 2008. Each year, the NCAA accepts up to 40 new applicants to join the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program.

Athletics - 45 Student-Athletes Named to MIAA Honor Roll
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – After all the numbers were tallied and the grades were handed in, 45 different student-athletes were named to the MIAA academic honor roll. To achieve this distinction, the student-athlete must accumulate a GPA of at least a 3.5 or better during the entire school year. It is the sixth consecutive year that Saint Mary’s has placed at least 40 student-athletes on the prestigious list.
Athletics - Saint Mary's Finishes Fourth in MIAA Standings
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Saint Mary’s athletic department tied their best finish with a fourth place finish in the year ending MIAA women’s all-sports standings. The Belles athletic programs have finished fourth in each of the last three years. Saint Mary’s joined the league during the 1997-98 season.
The final standings for the women’s all-sports crown are determined by the final standings on each institution in eight of the nine sports the MIAA sponsors. The point totals are then added up with the top point getter taking the crown.
