Your Itinerary

March 7, 2009

Today our staff will meet and greet the group at San Jose International Airport. After clearing customs the group will be transferred by bus to the capital city, San Jose, for a short tour. After you transfer to the Doubletree Cariari for check in, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Transportation and Guide. Dinner.

March 8, 2009

We will depart early for the Gandoca Manzanillo area, located on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Here you will find a great variety of resident and migratory birds plus three different species of monkey in addition to iguanas, sloths, turtles, and caymans. There will also be an opportunity to attend Catholic Mass. You will spend the night at the Almonds and Corals Hotel. Transportation and Guide. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

March 9, 2009

After breakfast we will visit the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge is classified as a humid tropical rainforest and is host to some of the region's most endangered flora and fauna. The Refuge covers a 740 acre forest, two swamps, a 10 kilometer strip of beach, and a coral reef. We will stay overnight at the Almonds andCorals Hotel. Transportation and Guide. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

March 10, 2009

You will be transferred by bus to the Sarapiqui area, were you will stay at the Selva Verde Lodge. The Selva Verde Lodge is located in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, along the Sarapiqui River. The area is known for its birdwatching. Overnight at Selva Verde Lodge. Transportation and Guide. Breakfast.

March 11, 2009

Join us for the Sarapiqui River Rafting Tour where you will travel approximately 7.5 miles between the communities of La Virgen and Chilamate. Enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Class II and III rapids. There will be a break during the six-hour trip to allow you to swim and enjoy the tropical fruits of the season. Overnight at Selva Verde Lodge. Transportation and Guide. Breakfast and Lunch.

March 12, 2009

Today's excursion includes a trip by bus to the Arenal Area where you will tour the Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs. A short hike will allow you to enjoy the nearby forest as well as a view of the 5,300 foot high volcano. The cone-shaped volcano has been active since 1968. You will also be able to enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot springs. Overnight at Arenal Springs. Transportation and Guide. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

March 13, 2009

Today the group will be transferred by bus back to San Jose where you will relax and reflect during a farewell dinner. Overnight at Doubletree Cariari.

March 14, 2009

Departure transfer to San Jose International Airport. Flights TBA.

Cost per person, based on current tarriffs and exchange rates is
$2999 per person, double occupancy.
$425 single supplement.
Deposit per person: $400 ($200 of deposit is non-refundable).
