Transfer Students


For Transfer Students:

1.)  Submit your Housing Preference Form and deposit by May 1, 2008 for fall applicants, or by January 1, 2009 for spring applicantsHousing assignments are done in the same order as deposits are received, so the earlier you submit your housing form and deposit, the better chance you have of getting your first choice in housing!  You can downlaod a pdf version of the form (below) that you can print and mail in with your $200 non-refundable deposit.  Or, you can follow the link below to pay your housing deposit and submit your housing form online!

2.) If you have not applied for Financial Aid, but would like to do so:

  • Complete the College Board PROFILE. Our school code is 1702, and you can complete the form at http://profileonline.collegeboard.com. This form is available now, and should be completed before March 1.
  • Complete the FAFSA. Our school code is 001836, and you can complete the form at www.fafsa.ed.gov. This form is available after January 1, and should be completed before March 1.
  • If you are applying for the spring semester, and have completed either form for your current institution, please contact FAFSA and/or PROFILE to have your data sent to Saint Mary's, using the codes above.

3.) Submit a photo to the Office of Admission. This photo is used for our records. The Student Activities Office also will be asking you to send another photo to Walsworth Publishing for the Freshman Register. The Student Activities Office will be sending you information about the Freshman Register later this spring.

4.) Complete and mail your health form to the Health and Wellness Office as soon as possible. The form will be mailed to you in May, or you can download a pdf version of the form (below) that you can print and send in now. This form does not need to be completed by a physician, but it has to be on file (including your signature) before you are allowed to move into your residence hall or start classes.

5.) Make arrangements to have your final transcripts sent to the Office of Admission. Keep in mind that your acceptance is contingent on the successful completion of your current semester, and an official final transcript has to be on file at Saint Mary's before you are allowed to move in, so please follow up with your school. 6.) Mark your calendar for the optional 2008 Summer Student Orientation.  If you can, please attend one of these one-day programs where you can get your student ID, email address, and learn a lot more about what to expect when you get to Saint Mary's for Orientation in August.

7.) Make your family's hotel reservations for 2008 New Student Orientation*. Orientation begins on Thursday, August 21 through Saturday, August 23, 2008. You can plan on moving into your room after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Sessions start on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for students and those parents who are able to attend Orientation and stay for the weekend. Local hotel information.

* Please be aware that Holy Cross College and the University of Notre Dame hold their Orientations during the same weekend, so it is recommended to make your reservations as soon as possible!

8.) View our list of commonly asked questions about room selections, roommates, and items to bring. Keep in mind that there are stores like Super Target, Meijer, Pier One and Wal-Mart within a short distance from campus.
