Gillis Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - Saint Mary's freshman pitcher Angela Gillis is being honored as this week's MIAA Pitcher of the Week.

Gillis, a freshman from Granger, Ind. (John Adams HS), threw three consecutive complete games last week, posting a 2-1 record. Against Olivet, she tossed a four-hit shutout, walking one and striking out three, as the Belles completed a doubleheader sweep with a 7-0 win. She also scattered seven hits and did not allow an earned run in a 3-2 victory over Calvin. Gillis is 10-1 this season with a 0.85 earned run average in 74 innings of work.

It is the first MIAA Pitcher of the Week honor of her career.
