#21 Belles in Third After Day One at Southwestern Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Saint Mary's College golf team, ranked #21 in NCAA DIII by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), is in third place with a 350 after day one of the Southwestern Invitational held at Berry Creek in Georgetown, Texas.
The host Pirates, who are ranked 13th nationally, are currently in the lead with a 325. Rhodes, ranked 25th nationally, is in second place with a 348.
Natalie Matuszak is currently leading the field after shooting a 79 for the only sub-80 performance of the day. Mary Kate Boyce had a strong showing in her first competition with the Belles, firing an 86 to share 11th place with a pair of other golfers.
Christine Brown was right in the middle of the pack as she finished the day tied for 22nd with a 91. Rosie O'Connor and Perri Hamma rounded out the scoring five golfers for the Belles as both finished with a 94.
Meredith Fantom, who was golfing as an individual, had a strong day with an 87 in the nine team invitational.
