Saint Mary’s record now stands at 4-2.
During the first game against Wisconsin Lutheran, Calli Davison threw a one-hitter and struck five in seven innings of work.
Mauren Healy helped Davison’s effort on the mound stand-up as the sophomore went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored. Ashley Peterson went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Saint Mary’s who tallied six total hits in the win.
In the second game of the day, the Belles plated the winning run in the top of the eighth when Peterson scored from third on a Wisconsin Lutheran error in the extra frame. Davison came in and relieved starting pitcher McKenna Corrigan in the bottom half of the inning to put the game away.
Healy put together a nice offensive effort as she went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. In addition to scoring the winning run, Peterson posted a two RBI performance in the win.
