During the game Saint Mary’s guard Alison Kessler nailed four three-pointers to become the College’s all-time leader in three-point shots made. The senior has connected on 133 shots from beyond the arc during her four years which surpasses Bridget Boyce’s record of 130 set from 2002-2006.
Saint Mary’s jumped out to a 6-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest, forcing the Britons (17-4, 10-3 MIAA) into an early timeout.
The Belles (9-12, 5-8 MIAA) eventually regained the lead at 32-29 with a Kessler three-pointer at the 3:34 mark.
Albion came out of locker room by going on a 16-4 scoring spurt during the first 9:25 of the second half in taking a 55-39 lead. Kessler’s record afternoon came on a day were she scored 28 points on an 8-for-15 effort from the field, including a 4-of-7 performance from beyond the arc, while nailing all eight of her foul shots.
