January 18, 2008, OLIVET, MI – In a tightly contested MIAA swimming and diving dual meet, a deeper Olivet squad nudged by Saint Mary’s 153-137 Friday evening at the Upton Center pool. The Comets won 11 of the 16 event competed in during the victory.
Saint Mary’s dual meet record moves to 5-3 overall and 2-2 during league competition while Olivet ups its mark to 1-3 and 1-1 respectively.
The Comets got off to a quick start by winning three of the first four events. In addition, they placed first in nine of the opening 11 events. Saint Mary’s was able to stay with Olivet by placing either second or third in numerous events but it wasn’t enough.
