
NAPERVILLE, IL – Sophomore Katy Durkin scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in helping Saint Mary’s to a 3-0 win over Mount Mercy at the Sal Vaccaro Invitational hosted by North Central College.
The win gives the Belles a 4-1-1 mark while Mount Mercy drops to 3-4.
Corissa Hart got the Belles on the scoreboard with her second goal of the season in the 20 th minute off of a pass of Katie Wehrli.
Durkin scored the first of her two goals in the 56 th minute before coming back less than 15 minutes later with a goal off a Jessica Slean assist in the 68 th minute.
Saint Mary’s outshot Mount Mercy 20-6 while holding a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Amy Mahoney tallied three saves in just over 82 minutes of action before giving way to Kristin Rhoa in posting her fourth shutout.
